Imagination rules the world, greatly influencing the Road Of Great Longevity

Napoleon:
"Imagination rules the world."

Albert Einstein(!!):
Imagination is more important than knowledge."

Are you,    or I,     smarter than these men?
Do we know so much more that we won’t ACT upon this wisdom?

You want POWER? How’s this for power? Arthur C. Clarke:
"The only way to discover the limits of the possible
is to go beyond them
into the impossible."

Marcus Aurelius... who knew a little something about this:
"A man is what he thinks about all day long."

If you’re capable of grasping the immutable truth of that statement,
why think about, ponder it, question it?

Why not just use it for 3 days, and see what happens?
There’s a reason why we’re told that ‘experience is the best teacher."

Decide what you’d like your dominant thought to be,
then focus on that thought for three days, refocusing EVERY time you’re distracted.

"It is only with the heart that one can see rightly;

what is essential is invisible to the eye."

Antoine De Saint-Exupery

A fine gentleman named Harold shared this with me by photocopying the original, which he pulled out of his wallet.
With wrinkles and tears, it had survived years of being read and re-read.
I’ve read it more than a few times myself since then, and hope you’ll get value out of repeated readings, as I do.

The Station

by Robert J. Hastings

Tucked away in our subconscious is an idyllic vision. We see ourselves on a long trip that spans the continent. We are traveling by train. Out the windows we drink in the passing scene of cars on nearby highways, of children waving at a crossing, of cattle grazing on a distant hillside of smoke pouring from a power plant, of row upon row of corn and wheat, of flatlands and valleys, of mountains and rolling hillsides, of city skylines & village halls.

But uppermost in our minds is the final destination. Bands will be playing and flags waving. Once we get there our dreams will come true, and the pieces of our lives will fit together like a jigsaw puzzle. How restlessly we pace the aisles, damning the minutes for loitering - waiting, waiting, waiting for the station. "
When we reach the station, that will be it! "we cry. "When I’m 18. " "When I buy a new Benz!" "When I put the last kid through college." " When I have paid off the mortgage!" "When I get a promotion." "When I reach the age of retirement, I shall live happily ever after!" Sooner or later we must realize there is no station, no one place to arrive once & for all. The true joy of life is the trip. The station is only a dream. It constantly outdistances us.

"Relish the moment" is a good motto, along with "Seize the moment!" It isn’t the burdens of today that drive men mad. It is the regrets over yesterday and the fear of tomorrow. Regret and fear are twin thieves who rob us of today.

So stop pacing the aisles & counting the miles. Instead, climb more mountains,
eat more ice cream, go barefoot more often, swim more rivers, watch more sunsets, laugh more, cry less.

Life must be lived as we go along. The station will come soon enough.

Imagination And The Road Of Great Longevity

The more you tickle your imagination, the more your imagination will tickle you, and endlessly, too!
Perhaps you recognize that imagination has fueled all the great ideas and great movements of history.
People of great imagination have been moving the world since we first stood up on our legs and saw reality.
What adds to the wonder and power of imagination is that imagination is the seed of what eventually alters reality.
Change does not arrive without use of imagination. Great human events do not occur without the use of imagination.
Wherever a reality does not meet the expectation or desire of humanity, SOMEONE imagines what they see as "better."

You want a better reality? You have to imagine it, don't you? You must first see it in your mind's eye, or at least in your heart.
Yes, a practical plan must be observed and put into play before reality is changed, in most cases, and that is one of YOUR jobs.
Few people you might ever meet are likely to care as much about your dreams as you are expected to care about your dreams.
That puts the ball squarely in your court, where you need to pick up that ball of possibility, and use your imagination for your life.
Whatever you most expect or hope for from this life is always going to be a function and extension of the best of your imagination.

So, dream on! Dream and persist with whatever constructive uses of your imagination you dare to dig inside yourself to find and use.
The best of your life is yet to come, and you are assured a far easier path in this life when you use your imagination with all your heart.
